cap and diplomaAccording to one estimate, by the year 2028 there will be 19 million more jobs for educated workers than there are qualified people to fill them. In this rapidly changing economy, the job market requires employees to be critical thinkers and problem solvers and most jobs require more than a high school diploma. It is projected that 70% of new jobs will require significant postsecondary education. Studies from the U.S. Department of Education show that 8 out of 10 students expect to earn a college degree or higher, but few students understand what they need to do to be fully prepared for college.

In Orange County, resources are available that create greater awareness of the college experience, expose students to new and emerging career opportunities, heighten their desire to attain an education beyond high school, and help guide students in their preparation for postsecondary education, including technical and two-year degrees.
